SREC Board Position

  

SREC Governing Board Citizen Representative


Spokane Regional Emergency Communications (SREC) is seeking to fill a vacancy on its Governing Board.  The opening is available to residents throughout the county.


The SREC Governing Board is comprised of eight persons; the Spokane County Chief Executive Officer, Spokane Valley Fire Department Chief, one Fire Chief representing the Inland Empire Fire Chief’s Association, one member representing the Spokane County Emergency Management Services (EMS) Trauma Care Council, Spokane County Sheriff, City of Spokane Valley Police Chief, one Police Chief representing the Inland Northwest Law Enforcement Leadership Group and one citizen at large (non-voting member). The SREC Governing Board is defined in the charter (County Resolution 2019-1152, Attachment A) as, ‘All corporate powers of SREC be exercised by or under the authority of the SREC Governing Board; and the business, property and affairs of SREC shall be managed under the supervision of the Board, except as maybe otherwise provided by law, this chapter, or the charter. A Board member may only serve for such time that he or she is the duly appointed, or acting in the capacity they represent. All Board members shall serve without compensation from SREC’.

The SREC Governing Board meets once a month for an average of about two hours.
